Candied Yams

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs. sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced (1/4" slices)
  • 1 cup water

  • 3 tablespoons WYW Date Powder
  • 4 tablespoons water
  • 2 oranges, juiced
  • 1/2 lemon, juiced
  • 1-2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 cup walnuts, toasted and chopped

Method

Preheat the oven to 375°F.

Add the sweet potatoes and water to a small glass baking dish and cover with foil. Place in the oven and bake for 45 minutes.

Prepare the glaze by whisking together the Date Powder, water, orange juice, lemon juice, and cinnamon. Drizzle the glaze onto the sweet potatoes, evenly coating them.

Bake uncovered for 35 minutes. Top with the walnuts and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes.
