HEALTHY Hot Cocoa, Eggnog, Wassail…OH MY!
-
The holiday season is finally here! Most traditional holiday beverages like hot cocoa and eggnog are full of unhealthy ingredients and loaded with processed sugar. Luckily, these whole food plant-based salt and sugar free recipes taste delicious and are good for you! From Wassail to Hot Cocoa to Eggnot…we have you covered!
These recipes are so good you will want to make them year ‘round. So cozy up and get ready to make these festive beverages that the whole family will love!
Here We Come A-Wassailing! To make this healthy and flavorful Wassail, it is as easy as adding all of the ingredients to a pot and simmering for 1-3 hours! Make sure you use no-sugar added apple juice that is not from concentrate. It is also important to note when we filmed the video we did not have any fresh ginger, so we used ground ginger. Although, fresh ginger is a better option if you have it on hand!
Since this Wassail is very strong, dilute it when serving with water until you reach your desired flavor. We love making this because the aroma of the Wassail fills the entire house and it puts us in the holiday spirit! If you haven’t tried Wassail you need to make this recipe!
Nothing is better than a cup of Hot Cocoa on a cold day sitting by the fire. Unfortunately, most Hot Cocoa is full of sugar and caffeine. This recipe uses whole dates as the sweetener and carob powder so there is no caffeine!
Simply add all the ingredients to a pot, heat, and whisk it often! The easiest way to make this is to use Well Your World Date Powder. If you do not have Date Powder, add all the ingredients to a blender first, blend until smooth, add to a pot, and heat.
This Eggnot is so simple to prepare and tastes so much better than the store-bought versions! Add all the ingredients to a high-speed blender and blend until smooth, adding more plant milk until you reach your desired thickness. Chill in the refrigerator for a couple hours and then you can enjoy this delicious Eggnot!
That is all for our healthy holiday beverages! We hope you love these recipes as much as we do and they put you in the holiday spirit! Show us your holiday beverages in our Facebook Community and tag us on Instagram. Happy Holidays!
