"From Cancer and Crisis to Creative Freedom, Linda's Story"
Linda's Journey Through Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and Beyond
Linda was in real estate, living the fast-paced life that came with it. Her diet? Mostly fast food and alcohol. The kind of lifestyle that keeps you going but doesn't exactly fuel you well.
Then came the diagnosis: non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
Looking back, Linda realizes her health up to that point was marked by a lot of inflammation. She had dabbled with healthier eating for years, but the cancer diagnosis—along with a heart attack—obviously got her attention in a way nothing else had.
Her journey started in earnest at that point. And she'll be the first to tell you: it's been a start and stop, success and failure along the years. But here's what matters—Linda has been in remission for over 10 years.
Discovering Well Your World
Linda found Well Your World on YouTube and was immediately drawn in by the enjoyable program and easy, tasty meals. The videos helped her get started, and from there she joined the membership to access all the information and get discounts on products. She's since joined the Facebook community as well. The accessibility of it all—the recipes, the products, the community—made sticking with it possible, even when life got complicated.
The Journey: Feeling Better First
One of the most interesting parts of Linda's story is that she started to feel better before seeing visible results. That's not always how we think transformation works—we want to see the scale move, the pants fit differently, the "proof." But Linda felt the shift internally first.
"At my age it's a constant work to stay on task and continue," she admits. But she also calls it an "enjoyable journey."
Her husband is a meat-and-potatoes kind of guy, so Linda makes two different types of meals, and that's okay with her. What she really enjoys now is enlarging her recipes and menus—getting creative with what works for her body and her life.
It's not always easy. She still faces challenges, like when traveling with people who don't eat the same way she does. But she's learned to navigate those situations and has made peace with the fact that not everyone shares her lifestyle.
A Typical Day Now
Meal prep is always a plus for Linda, and she's able to do that to some extent. Her approach is practical and efficient. She's not spending hours in the kitchen, but she's nourishing herself in a way that supports her health and keeps her feeling good.
Linda's Advice: Get Creative
Linda advises taking advantage of technology and exploring all avenues of information. Well Your World was one of the first resources she found and it really helped her. The freestyle approach encouraged her to be creative with her meal planning.
That creativity—the freedom to adapt and make the lifestyle her own—has been key to Linda's success. She's not following a rigid plan. She's living her life, over 10 years in remission, and finding joy in the process.
