"I Decided to LIVE Until I Die, Angela's Story"

Angela's Proactive Journey to Health at 72

Angela wasn't in crisis mode when she made her decision to change. A routine EKG test prompted further testing, and her doctor discovered she had a heart issue. Her cholesterol had been creeping higher than recommended. The thing is, none of it had really impacted her daily activities yet. She was still active, still going about her life. But when she learned her cardiologist followed a whole food plant-based diet, something clicked.

If her heart doctor was eating this way, maybe there was something to it.

The Decision: Live Until I Die

Angela didn't want to wait for a crisis. She wanted to be proactive about her future. "I just decided I wanted to LIVE until I died," she explains. "I don't want to be sick and unable to do what I like as I get older."

And Angela isn't just talking about health—she's actively working on it. She goes to the gym 5 days a week, focusing on strength and cardio to stay in shape. At 72 years old, she's proof that age is just a number when you're committed to taking care of yourself.

Eating a diet of fruits, vegetables, grains, and beans felt like a natural next step in taking care of herself. It was about nourishing her body rather than restricting it.

Discovering Well Your World

Angela found Well Your World on YouTube, and the approach immediately resonated with her. "I just loved the idea of quick and easy recipes. Nobody wants to spend hours cooking every day," she says.

The focus for Angela wasn't about weight loss—it was about bringing that cholesterol down and supporting her heart health. And the simple, delicious recipes made it possible.

"The easy recipes and healthy WYW products make it much easier to stay on track," Angela notes. "We all have our favorite recipes. There are so many I love but Mushroom Stroganoff, Broctatas, Pizza Oatmeal, Potato Corn Chowder are a few of my favs."

The Results: 6 Months to Success

The results came surprisingly fast. Within just 6 months, Angela's cholesterol dropped 70 points and her blood pressure came down—not from medication, but from cooking without oil and salt.

Angela has never been on medication for these issues, and she doesn't plan on ever needing them. "I believe diet is everything, so this is why I chose this lifestyle," she says. "WYW helps keep it interesting."

Looking back, Angela realizes she really wasn't in bad shape before she changed to WFPB. But that's exactly the point. She didn't wait until things got bad. She made the choice at 64 years old because she decided that as she aged, eating this way would be the better choice for her future.

She's now 72—eight years into this journey—and she'll never go back.

A Typical Day of Eating

Angela starts her day with overnight oats or tofu scramble. For lunch, she keeps it simple—homemade sourdough bread and hummus with red onion, tomato, and microgreens, or a broctata. Dinner is usually beans, greens, and rice, or something comforting like broccoli with WYW cheese sauce over potato.

Her approach is straightforward—nutritious, delicious, and doable. No complicated meal plans, no hours in the kitchen. Just good food that supports her active lifestyle.

Angela's Advice: Don't Give Up

"Stick with the WYW way of making meals easy and delicious," Angela encourages. "Use the videos to get extra tips and tricks along with the recipes. Take advantage of the membership and great savings on all the products to keep it even easier."

Her final words? "Don't give up!!! It's worth it."

And at 72, still hitting the gym 5 days a week with great cholesterol and blood pressure numbers—no medications needed—Angela is living proof.
