"From 'I Could Never Do This' to 'This Is My Favorite Way to Eat, Cherie's Story'"

How Cherie Finally Embraced Plant-Based Living

Before discovering WFPB eating, Cherie describes herself as an out-of-control food-aholic, especially with the Standard American Diet. After her son was born in 1978, she tried to eat healthy, but it was always based on others' opinions of what healthy meant. She developed numerous health issues in her 20s and 30s.

Her first introduction to plant-based eating came from watching Dr. Fuhrman on PBS. She was intrigued immediately but didn't think she could ever do it.

Fast forward to today—23 years after watching Dr. Fuhrman—"I am in love with all things plant-based: kale, broccoli, all greens (used to hate them) and the best part? Despite having current health issues with back pain, this is my favorite way to eat!!"

"And I thank WYW for teaching me better & efficient methods of cooking. I love you guys!!"

The Wake-Up Call: Too Many Doctor Visits

Cherie's turning point came after too many doctor visits spent discussing her weight and health problems. Whenever she mentioned wanting to go whole food plant-based, her doctors dismissed the idea and simply handed her the number to the hospital nutritionist—which felt like a complete waste of time.

Finding Well Your World: Coming Back for More

Cherie discovered Well Your World on YouTube. Her first reaction was that it all looked far too complicated for her, but she kept coming back for more recipes and the fun, welcoming energy. Once she started trying the recipes, she realized it wasn't nearly as complicated as she'd initially thought.

She began with YouTube videos, bought a few cookbooks, and right from the start ordered WYW products to help her along. She immediately noticed how much lighter she felt after eating this way.

What really drew her in was the simple, uncomplicated approach to cooking really good food. The products made everything easier, and the no-fuss meal approach was exactly what she needed. Rebecca and Dillon helped her relax and enjoy the journey instead of feeling overwhelmed by it.

Health Improvements: A Gradual Journey

Cherie's health improvements have been gradual but meaningful. Her A1C has reduced to about 6.9 from almost 8, though it's taken several years due to some stop-and-start cycling with the diet. While she hasn't been able to eliminate any medications yet, one has been cut in half thanks to gradual weight loss.

A Typical Day: Simple and Intuitive

Cherie gravitates toward 10-minute recipes and simple nourish bowls, which she loves because they work with whatever she has on hand. She's also learning to listen to her true hunger cues, developing a more intuitive relationship with food.

Cherie's Advice: Forget the Diet Industry

Cherie's advice for those starting out is straightforward: if you're a veteran dieter like her, put behind you and forget all the well-meaning diet advice you've accumulated over the years. She's joined and followed every diet program since 1975—a waste of time and energy. Instead, take the time to learn everything you possibly can about whole food plant-based eating.

What makes Well Your World special? "I love that they truly are real people and care how we're all doing. You will learn more about health & food from their videos and LIVE segments than you can imagine."
