The HEALTHIEST & CHEAPEST Vegan Cheese
-
You will be the talk of any gathering by bringing this plant-based Smoky Cheeze Ball. This cheeze ball is so creamy and easy to whip up using chickpeas and tofu. It is the perfect addition to your charcuterie board along with crackers, veggies, and fruit for dipping. This cheeze ball is also salt-free, oil-free, and sugar-free, so you can indulge guilt-free.
Don’t wait for a party to try this recipe, make it for yourself or your family! You only need a handful of ingredients that you likely already have in your kitchen. So what are you waiting for, let’s make this Smoky Cheeze Ball!
Let’s get to making this cheeze ball in just a few steps. We used a food processor for this recipe, but a high-speed blender will also do the trick. Add the chickpeas into your food processor, we recommend no-salt added if you can find it. Drain and break the tofu into a couple pieces and drop it into the food processor. Both extra-firm or firm tofu will work for this recipe.
Now we are going to give it some flavor! In the food processor, add in the nutritional yeast for that cheesy and nutty flavor. Our Non-Fortified Nutritional Yeast has the best flavor out there for the best price. Throw the mustard in too, our favorite is the Westbrae Natural Salt-Free Organic Mustard. Since it is unavailable on Amazon, we found a similar option that is also salt-free here. Next, add in some miso paste for some saltiness if you choose to. We used the Cold Mountain Mellow White Miso. There are a few different kinds of miso, but any will do. It is time for the most important ingredient…the liquid smoke! Add just a little bit of the liquid smoke to the food processor. We highly recommend Wright’s Liquid Smoke because it is from added caramel color.
It is time to get this cheeze ball started! Turn on the food processor for about 30 seconds, then wipe down the sides. You want to ensure that everything is hitting the blades. Turn it on for a few minutes this time, then wipe down the sides again. Process everything one last time. Grab a small bowl and place a piece of plastic wrap inside the bowl, this will be the mold. You can use different molds and shapes too! Scoop the processed mixture into the bowl and smooth the top into an even layer. Place the bowl in the fridge for a couple hours or in the freezer for about a half hour to set.
Once your cheeze mixture has set, we can get the party started. Place the bowl with the cheeze mixture on the counter, set a plate or platter on top of the bowl, hold both together, and flip both upside down. Take the bowl off the cheeze ball and slowly lift away the plastic wrap. Now you have a cheeze ball! Dress it up by sprinkling Well Your World Salt-Free Everything Bagel Seasoning all over. Our Everything Bagel Seasoning is what will keep your guests coming back for more!
We served our Smoky Cheeze Ball on a beautiful Well Your World platter with all sorts of goodies. We placed Mary’s Gone Crackers oil-free crackers, carrot chips, and apple slices all around the cheeze ball. More options that you can add to your platter would be whole wheat pita, whole wheat lavash, cucumbers, and celery.
That is all for our delicious and smooth Smoky Cheeze Ball recipe. You might want to double this batch if you are having a large gathering because everyone is going to love this. Try this cheeze ball as a spread on your wraps or sandwiches too! We would love to see how you make this recipe on our Instagram and in our wonderful Facebook Community!
