Are your potatoes sad & dry? Does your mac seek a worthy cheese? Is your steamed broccoli kind of…boring? Have no fear, our NEW & IMPROVED cheese sauce is here! Made with all natural, plant-based, and SOS-free ingredients, this cheese sauce can be whipped up in the time it takes to boil water! You can use the sauce as is — no salt, oil, sugar, nuts — or as a base to create your favorite variation. Now made with our very own non-fortified nutritional yeast!
Shake Well Before Use. Start with a ratio of roughly 2:1, with 2 parts hot water and 1 part cheese sauce mix, and blend it up in your blender until smooth. For example, two cups of water plus one cup of dry mix will yield a little over 2 cups of cheese sauce. If that ratio is too watery, just add a little more mix and blend again, or use less water next time!
Feel free to add whatever else your heart desires. For a creamier flavor, add some cashews to the blender. For a saltier flavor, throw in some miso paste or liquid aminos!
This is so convenient and delicious! It blends together in a snap which is essential to help me stay on track to eating healthier. I’ve tried it on steamed cabbage, air fried zucchini, microwaved frozen broccoli and of course, potatoes. I will be buying again.
I love the everything bagel seasoning especially because it has no salt. Love it on my avocado toast. My favorite soup, so creamy and delicious. The cheese sauce is so versatile. I love that I could use it with so many things. Haven’t tried the Asian Broth yet, but am looking forward to it. Thanks for all the great products. 🤗 Phyllis 😊
I followed the directions as stated on the package and it was **fabulous**!! Used the recommended cashews for a little richness and it was delicious! Even my hubby who's not entirely WFPB thought it was terrific. I had a little left over which I refrigerated and used it a couple days later. Just as good as the first time around. Highly highly recommend this product!
I absolutely love the cheese sauce mix. I make GF pasta, and pasta sauce out of a can of tomatoes and Italian spices. I mix those together and then sprinkle on top 1.5 tablespoons of your dried cheese sauce mix plus some garlic powder. It is so incredibly good! I also eat the cheese sauce mix with popcorn. Put a tablespoon in a separate small bowl, get a handful of popcorn, then sprinkle a bit of cheese sauce on your handful and eat. It is wonderful! Thank you!
I got invited to a steakhouse for a birthday celebration with some of my church friends. I always check out the menu ahead of time. Any place that has a baked potato and broccoli I'm good. I ask for a naked potato and naked steamed broccoli. I took a small thermos with the cheese sauce. It was incredibly good and I was stuffed. I've taken a thermos to many restaurants now. The staff never says anything. I've also taken your mushroom gravy or baked beans to put on baked potatoes. I find I can eat at most restaurants this way, as the midwest doesn't have a lot of vegan friendly places. Most have not even heard of WFPB.
This is my favorite WYW product. Whenever I'm a bit down, or tempted to go eat some BS food.... I tell myself I can have chickpea noodles and cheese sauce. I eat a salad first to fill up on volume, and then enjoy the heck out of good old mac and cheese. At this point, I totally prefer it over "SAD" mac and cheese. I love this stuff.
I thought it would be better, heavy potato taste. Added roasted cauliflower, red bell pepper & roasted garlic the second time I used it, a decent base!
Cheese sauce is great to have in the kitchen. I use this in a lot of different ways. Sometimes I make it into a sauce and pour over veg or potatoes. I also just add it to steaming veg or mix it into potatoes. I really love it as something special from time to time.
I purchased the cheese sauce before but wasn't a fan. It sat in my cupboard for a while. Then trying to get away from fat in most vegan stores brought cheese I decided to try it again. This time I read all the directions and prepared it according to Dillon's favorite recipe and absolutely loved it.
I loved it so much, I ordered a second bottle after the first taste. So versatile, I can put it on baked potatoes, veggies, pasta, rice. And it's quick and easy. I can make as much or as little as I want.
This cheese sauce mix is great! This is a convenient way to get a quick condiment when you don't have time or energy to make a sauce from scratch. Thanks!
For the longest time, I was sprinkling WYW famous cheese sauce powder into everything. On top of soup, in my salad bowl as part of a random dressing, anything! Then one day, I actually made the powder into its intended use: cheese sauce. When made with cashews and miso, this cheese sauce is so rich and tasty. I now pour it into plain quinoa for quick and cheesy goodness.
It didn't say anything about heating the Cheese Sauce Mix on the can but I found that it was improved in mouth feel by heating and adding ground flax seeds (rather than the suggested cashews). I also added a little Ume Plum Vinegar (rather than the suggested miso), which perked it up considerably, adding a tart salty taste. All-in-all, it is great to have a base with which to start a great sauce.
The second time I tried the cheese sauce base, I added a teaspoon of the Veggie Broth Mix.
This stuff is amazing if you don’t want to go through the hassle of making it yourself. For a quick snack, I popped about 10 tiny Yukon gold potatoes in the microwave for me and my husband. Mixed up some cheese sauce in my ninja small blender (of course I added more spices to the cheese sauce base.) When the potatoes were done, I halved the potatoes and smothered them with cheese sauce. My husband loved them. He said the snack was very tasty! We aren’t WFPB yet but are transitioning. It’s great to have something like this cheese sauce mix to help us.
Great, versatile addition to my pantry, I sprinkle it on everything especially items I am air frying and sometimes I use it as cheese sauce. I bought the last batch to share with friends in a new year care package.
Do I really need to elaborate on the awesomeness of this product? Takes a few seconds to throw together. I can honestly say that my vegetable consumption would be cut in half (or less 😬) without this sauce.

Hi Christina,
Thanks for giving our Cheese Sauce Mix a try. Our mix is actually designed as a customizable base that you can add liquid aminos or miso, lemon juice, cashews, or hemp hearts to create the flavor and texture you're looking for. The water-to-mix ratio can also make a big difference in the flavor intensity, so you might try using less water or more mix to get a richer taste. We hope you give the mix another shot to find a combination that works for you!
