We recommend using no-salt added beans because you don't need to strain or rinse them. Since we didn't have no-salt added pinto beans today, we rinsed them and supplemented the missing liquid with our delicious veggie broth.

    Baked Beans

This recipe will be your BBQ sidekick!

    Ingredients:

    • 1 onion, diced small
    • 5 garlic cloves, minced
    • 1 ½ teaspoons ground cumin
    • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika
    • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
    • 1 teaspoon chipotle powder
    • ½ - 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
    • ¼ teaspoon white pepper
    • 1 tablespoon WYW Stardust or Galaxy Dust
    • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke (optional)
    • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
    • 1 6 oz. can of tomato paste
    • 4 15 oz. cans pinto beans, with liquid
    • 1 ½ cups fresh or froze pineapple (or try mango/dates), minced

    • fresh chopped cilantro, to top

    Instructions:

Add the onion to a large stock pot or dutch oven and sauté over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes or until tender, adding some water or veggie broth as needed to keep from sticking. You'll want to sauté these onions on the dry side to “brown” them.

Once the onions have browned, add the remaining ingredients to the pot, stir, and bring to a boil.

Reduce the heat to low, cover, and let cook for about 30 minutes (or more). This will allow the flavors and textures to come together into the perfect baked beans.

Top with fresh chopped cilantro, enjoy!
