Homemade Pizza Crust

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons active yeast
  • 1 teaspoon WYW Date Powder
  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon flaxseed meal
  • 1 tablespoon applesauce

Method

Combine the warm water, yeast, and date powder (date sugar) in a large bowl and set aside for 15 minutes while the yeast activates.

In another bowl, mix the whole wheat flour and the flaxseed meal together. Once the yeast is ready, combine it with the flour and applesauce. Mix very well until a dough ball is formed, adding up to 1⁄2 cup additional flour if the dough becomes too sticky.

Place the dough in a new bowl, cover it with plastic wrap, and set aside for about an hour or until it doubles in size.

Preheat the oven to 450°F. Roll the dough out to your desired shape and thickness. Place it on a parchment-lined baking sheet and spread the pizza sauce on top. Cover it with all of your favorite pizza toppings and bake for 15-20 minutes. Slice and enjoy!
