Join Our 2023 Healthy January Challenge NOW! (Free Cooking Shows)

It is January and that means it is time for the annual Well Your World January Challenge!


For those who may be new to the Well Your World community, we make living a plant-based lifestyle as simple as possible with our recipes, live cooking show, time-saving products, cookbooks, and more! Everyone has a different reason for coming to this lifestyle including health, animal welfare, and environmental reasons. Since everyone is working towards different goals and live different lives we wanted to make a January Challenge that any and everyone can do! This challenge can be whatever you want it to be whether your goal is weight gain or loss, to make new friends, go outside more, or learn new skills!


Why do we do this challenge every year? Well, when Dillon first began his plant-based journey he would do a one month challenge every month for a couple years. During these one month challenges he would add or subtract different foods and/or habits with the goal of settling into a sustainable, health-promoting lifestyle that worked for daily living. He learned so much from his challenge-accepting process that he wanted to share what worked so well for him; hence, the annual January Challenge!


The reason for the January Challenge isn’t to help you figure out your goals–you already know what you want. Goals are simply outcomes and outcomes aren’t always controllable. For example, if our desired outcome is weight loss, there’s so much about that process we can’t control such as how fast we lose weight or the number on the scale that reflects our ideal body weight, which could be more or less than we think.


While we can’t always control our outcomes, we do have complete control over how we work towards them. The January Challenge focuses more on the process rather than the outcome. The ways in which you complete your goal is just as important (if not more) than completing the goal itself.


Here is how the January Challenge goes:


1. Choose a maximum of 3 habits to work on in January. Why 3? It is the perfect amount to work on multiple areas of life without it getting too overwhelming.


2. Print out the January Challenge workbook. If you have not downloaded it for free already, click here to download it now.


3. Fill out the 3 habits you want to track for the month at the bottom of the calendar. Assign each habit a unique color, sticker, or icon. Then, put the calendar somewhere you will be able to see it daily like the pantry door, refrigerator, bathroom mirror, vanity, etc. Finally, add a habit marker to each day you complete your habit(s). Simple!

Trying to focus on something other than your health? You can still do this challenge! We made this challenge so that anyone can do it no matter what goals they have. We created four main categories to choose from: Diet, Lifestyle, Physical, and Community.


Studies have shown that about 80% of people who make New Year’s resolutions have given up on them before February and only about 8% of people stay on track throughout the entire year. What most people forget is that it takes more than an intention to achieve a goal. Achieving a goal takes multiple small changes applied over and over on a daily basis. Additionally, people need the accountability of a supportive community working towards similar outcomes to really push them.
