RECIPE AMOUNTS

Baharat Spice Blend:
1 Tablespoon – black pepper (reduce if too spicy)
1.5 T – paprika (I like smoked, but some prefer mild)
1 T – ground cumin
2 teaspoons – ground coriander
1 t – ground cinnamon
1/2 t – ground cloves
1/4 t – ground cardamom
1/4 t – ground nutmeg

Koshari Red Sauce:
1 – medium yellow or white onion
2-4 – cloves garlic
2 T – Baharat spice blend
2 T – red wine vinegar
1/4 t – crushed red pepper (optional)
2 15 oz cans – tomato sauce (no salt added!)
Additional pepper or Baharat spices

Koshari Main Dish Ingredients:
Brown rice
Whole wheat macaroni
Green lentils
Garbanzo beans
Add some greens or non-starches as desired
